Why Choose Tignes & Val D’Isere

The linked resorts of Tignes and Val d'Isère form one of the most iconic mountain areas in Europe. Known collectively as the Espace Killy, this high-altitude domain offers some of the most reliable snow, varied terrain, and freeride opportunities in the Alps.

For snowboarders, it’s a dream environment to progress — whether you're building fundamentals or pushing into steeper, more technical terrain.

One of the biggest advantages of riding in Tignes and Val d’Isère is altitude.

With lifts reaching over 3,400m on the Grande Motte glacier, snow conditions stay consistent throughout the winter season. Higher elevation means:

  • Better snow preservation

  • More powder days

  • Longer season

  • Stronger base depth

For riders serious about progression, consistency matters.

The variety of terrain across the Espace Killy makes it ideal for snowboard coaching.

For Intermediate Riders

  • Wide red runs perfect for carving development

  • Natural rollers and side hits to improve board control

  • Variable snow to build confidence in real conditions

For Advanced Riders

  • Steep off-piste lines

  • Technical gullies and freeride zones

  • Natural features for creative line choice

  • Big mountain terrain that demands smart movement

  • 2 great snowparks to choose from

This is where getting a lesson makes a difference — reading terrain, managing speed, and building control that translates everywhere.

It all begins with an idea. Fancy exploring the bottomless snowfields of Japan, split boarding through the wild mountains of Kyrgyzstan or riding down to the ocean in Norway’s fjords. Stay tuned for something exciting.

Who am I?

I’ve always been driven by a love of sport and the outdoors. Growing up between the Pyrenees and the U.K., I spent my childhood trying just about every sport I could — but from the moment I first stepped on a snowboard at age seven, I was hooked. That early spark turned into a lifelong passion that’s taken me all over the world in search of good snow and adventures. I’m an independent instructor, holding the highest teaching qualifications in snowboarding.

Now based year-round in Tignes, I split my time between coaching, guiding, and riding some of the best terrain in the Alps. I’ve also spent seasons coaching in Japan, where I helped riders of all levels build confidence and style in deep powder and varied mountain conditions.

Whether it’s teaching beginners their first turns, fine-tuning technique for experienced riders, or exploring the backcountry, I’m passionate about helping people experience the same joy and freedom snowboarding has given me.

FAQs

Do you need your own equipment?

No not at all. I work with a local ski & snowboard rental shop (Tignes Spirit) where I can help you get set up with anything from boards to avalanche safety gear.

Can you have a group lesson?

Yes of course. Sometimes learning together is more fun. I can take groups of 6 max people at a time. Feel free to send me a message on instagram or email to organise.

Do you only cover Tignes & Val D’isere?

No I can cover most of the resorts in the Tarentaise. I’ve spent lots of time in Les Arcs and surrounding resorts and sometimes are a great alternative. Please send me a message if you would like to ask any further questions.
